          In Greek mythology, Medusa (; Ancient Greek: Μέδουσα, romanized: Médousa, lit. 'guardian, protectress'),[a] also called Gorgo (Ancient Greek: Γοργώ)[b] or the Gorgon, was one of the three Gorgons.
