          Early life and education

          Alison Elizabeth Margaret Goldfrapp[1] was born on 13 May , in Enfield, London, the youngest of six children.[2] Her mother, Isabella Barge, was a nurse.[2] Her father, Nicholas Goldfrapp, had been an army officer, and worked in advertising.
